New Year, Same Ryan Bros!

2020 was certainly a whirlwind and a learning experience for all of us, but with the New Year comes new hope, new opportunity, and many fresh cups of coffee to get us through our days! What’s your New Year’s resolution? Is it waking up a little earlier? Maybe reading more books or picking up a new hobby. Whatever 2021 has in store for you, we are grateful to be part of your routine.

Our New Year’s Resolution is to keep serving fresh coffee and teas to you. Perhaps even enhance the coffee experience at home with some of our favorite gadgets… But we’ll get more into that later.

Year-Round Flavor

We love flavor coffee here and just because ‘tis no longer the season of Pumpkin Spice or Christmas Roast doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be deprived of the excitement and the aroma of fresh, flavored coffee. All year round, our chocolate hazelnut coffee, Sophie’s Blend, will be available online and in shops.

That’s the Tea!

The start of 2021 is the perfect time to try something new! We are Ryan Bros Coffee, but we have a lot more to offer. Tea is excellent for wakening up, calming down, or feeling better. Like coffee, it’s nice to share with friends too. We understand that tea can be a little intimidating, but we have the know-how to help you make the perfect brew.

This month, for JanuarTEA, if you will, we will be featuring some of our favorite teas. From tea kits to get you started, to samples so you can decide what is best for you, we’ve got the goods to get you started on your new adventure.

We will also be releasing new teas throughout the year so there will always be something new to try.

Did you know...

The reason why you absorb the caffeine from coffee and the caffeine from tea differently is because of the roasting. When a coffee bean is roasted, the caffeine molecule is unstable and oils are released, making the coffee itself more acidic and able to be more quickly absorbed. That’s why darker roasts are typically more acidic and have less caffeine.

What does that mean for tea? Well, tea isn’t roasted at all so that caffeine molecule is preserved. It’s absorbed more slowly without the acidity. So if you have a sensitive stomach, are looking for a sustainable way to get caffeine, or want to avoid the caffeine-jitters and crash, tea might be the alternative you need!

Raffles? Forever?

While we are pretty confident in our roasting abilities, we love getting feedback. You might have noticed an email about reviewing online orders. In order to thank you for your feedback, you will be entered into a weekly raffle for a $25 gift card.

Every week. Forever.

Yes, that’s right! By leaving one review, you will have the opportunity to win a gift card every week! You can increase your chances of winning by reviewing different products.

Reviews not only help us improve the product that you’re getting, but they help other customers find the right coffee, tea, or cocoa for them. The more descriptive you are, the better.

Barista’s Choice

Starting this month, we will be asking our expert baristas for their choice of drinks. Sometimes it’s nice to try something new and who better to take a recommendation from than the folks making your coffee or tea?

Raul (Barrio Logan) Almond Milk, Quarter-Sweet, French Vanilla Latte: “Perfect for people who don’t have a huge sweet tooth but want a little bit of flavor in their drink. Also, they don’t have to worry about dairy which is great for people like me who are lactose intolerant.”

If you stop by Barrio Logan -or any of our other locations- be sure to give this French Vanilla Latte a try!
