Coffee of the month:    Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora Obata Natural Microlot.

Here is a link to our supplier for details for this truly amazing coffee from Costa Rica: https://www.vournascoffee.com/coffee/costa-rica-hacienda-sonora-obata-natural-microlot/

From the start, in our early beginnings learning to roast great coffee, coffees from Costa Rica have been an integral part of our coffee lineup.  These coffees are so balanced and flavorful that it is hard to drink anything else!  Farmers from this county take such pride and care in what they grow and how to best process it for extraordinary flavor.  These coffees are always high in acidity which translates to a “brightness” in the cup.  When roasted properly and with care, flavors of fruit and slight hints of natural sweetness are common and greatly appreciated by coffee enthusiasts far and wide.  Our new Costa Rica Microlot, from Hacienda Sonora, is a natural processed Red Obata coffee variety that produces a complex cup with some fruity notes and accompanying accents of chocolate and caramel.  It is a coffee that you simply cannot stop drinking!   Get yours and enjoy!

Cupping Notes: Very bright cup with hints of tangerine and tart cherry on the finish. Great acidity and mouthfeel.

Flavored Coffee of the month:  Hawaiian Hazelnut.

It is summertime and what better way to kick it off than with this deliciously scented flavored coffee.  If you love scented flavored coffee, don’t miss out on this one!  With hints of Hazelnut, Caramel, and Kahlua your taste buds will float away to the Islands!  Whether you brew your coffee hot or cold, you will not be disappointed.  A scent of the islands; truly heavenly!

Whole Leaf Tea of the month:  Summer Bliss.

The name says it all.  Bliss in a cup! Organic Superior Grade Rooibois leaf infused with a bouquet of Purple Haze Fan Flower and scented with the essence of Blue Berry.  This caffeine-free antioxidant-rich blend is perfect iced.  Great for summertime relief from the heat.   What is the rooibos tea good for?  Although it has little nutritional value, rooibos tea is rich in antioxidants, which may benefit health. The antioxidants in rooibos tea are polyphenols, which are chemical compounds that allow plants to fight stress. When people eat foods rich in polyphenols, they are less likely to suffer from inflammation.”

Rooibos Tea sometimes referred to as “Red” Tea, comes from South Africa.  It is a daily staple there for many South Africans. It is renowned for its ability to soothe the central nervous system resulting in a sense of calmness.  It has a scent reminiscent of your “uncle’s pipe tobacco”; sweet and slightly spicy!

Other Health Benefits of Rooibos Tea include:

  • Aids Weight Loss. ...
  • Improves Appearance of Skin. ...
  • Alleviates Pain. ...
  • Allergies. ...
  • Helps Build Strong Bones. ...
  • Streamlines Digestion. ...
  • May Help Control or Prevent Diabetes. ...
  • Supports Heart Health.

Most importantly, it tastes great!  Get yourself some 😊.

Cocoa Powder of the month:  White Chocolate

White chocolate is not easy to find and for those who have had it, its rich and creamy flavor is haunting!  Mix this beauty in your coffee or with Milk, Soy Milk, Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, Oat Milk, or just plain old hot water!  It has a perfect balance of sweetness and body.  T brings us to our “Toddy of the Month”.
